Want to teach your girls (and yourself) the basics of coding? The Breaking the Code summer porgram will offer 15-20 troop leaders an in-person coding training to prepare Girl Scouts for a summer round of Hour of Code.

This session seeks to expand access to computer science training for our Girl Scouts by equipping their leaders to provide this oportunity to more girls.

Upon completion, troop leaders will receive a "Training Completion" certificate, and will be tasked with leading troops through the Vidcode Hour of Code module – after which girls will receive a patch for being a "Coding Star."

Our goal is to build a cohort of "coding commissioners" ready for deployment at our annual Tech Jam event, which we aim to increase to one per borough by Computer Science Week 2017.

Also great for new Unplugged activities to help younger girls better understand coding concepts!
